We ship by United States Post Office First Class Mail to foreign destinations. It is generally reliable and relatively inexpensive. When your flute arrives in your country, customs duties may be collected. Some countries charge no duties at all, while others impose significant fees.
The customs system can be unpredictable. Packages are sometimes held without clear explanation. When your shipment reaches your local customs facility, you will typically receive a notification by mail. You will then need to visit the customs office to pick up your package and pay any duties that may be required.
Please make sure that the shipping address you provide is the same as your home address where customs notifications will be delivered. If the notification is sent to a different address, you may not receive it, and the package could be returned.
In some countries there are known problems with mail theft. There are places where packages are frequently removed from the mail system. Mexico is one such country, and for this reason we are unable to ship there.
If there is a risk of theft within your local mail system, we recommend using USPS Priority Mail. Priority Mail includes tracking, which tends to deter theft. It typically costs about thirty dollars more than First Class Mail.
Your package will include a customs tracking number. This allows you to follow its progress and know when it arrives in your country. We will send this tracking number to you once your package has been mailed.
Once a package is in the mail, we no longer have control over its movement. Please be patient. Packages do arrive.
