Craftsman Purpleheart and Curly Maple Native American style flute

Purpleheart is a dense, medium grained hardwood from Central and South America prized for its vivid purple color. Curly Maple, also known as fiddle back or tiger maple is a dense smooth grained North American hardwood. Purpleheart has a clear, bright and projecting tonal quality which is slightly less warm than cherry or maple. A flute made of Purpleheart and curly maple takes a smooth, satiny finish.
