Zebrawood is a medium dense, open grained, somewhat fibrous hardwood from Africa. It is known for its distinctive appearance combining dark chocolate colored to black stripes over a warm tan background. A Native American style flute made from Zebrawood will have a bright, articulate quality with good projection.  More mellow when compared with a denser wood such as purpleheart.
